Attendance Awards

All the girls who missed two or less days in the first term had their names entered into a big raffle. Our classs was very lucky and we had two winners - Amaze and Patricija. Here they are with their prizes; a lovely cuddly toy and a voucher for crannóg bookshop.

There will be another chance for everyone to enter the next raffle at Easter so keep the attendance up everyone!:)

Well done to Saoirse, Brooke and Gráinne who all won medals at the recent swimming gala in Cavan swimming pool. We are all so proud of you!

Posting our Santa letters

Last Thursday we went to the post office. We were posting our letters to Santa. We decorated our letters and the envelope and then we got in a big bus that dropped us there. When we went in it was very big. Our teacher took lots of photos and put them on the blog. We posted our letters in Santa’s postbox. 40 people work in the post office in Cavan. 10, 000 people work for An Post in Ireland. We had a great day.

On Thursday our class went to the post office. First we went on the bus that we go swimming on. We sang some Christmas songs. We sang Santa Clause is coming to town, Jingle Bells and Rudolph. After 10 minutes we were there, the post office was big and cold. We asked some questions and then we put our letter in the postbox and we had to shout our name. I asked the question “how many people work in the post office?” and the man said “40”. Lastly we got to sing one more song and we got a treat. It was the best day ever.

Tomorrow we will be going to the Post Office to post our letters to Santy. We will be taking a tour of the storeroom and getting to see the journey our letter makes from our classroom to Santy's workshop!

Carol Singing

Classes from 3rd to 6th class will be carol singing tomorrow (Thursday December 6th) outside the post office. We will be raising much needed funds for our local charity The St Vincent De Paul Society.

 Our class will be singing from 12.00 - 12.40. Why not come along to hear us!

Don't forget to wear warm coats and gloves and a Santy hat if you have one!
